The Lord who is mighty has done great things for me
Fr. Samuel Medley, SOLT, Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity

If you asked me when I was a kid what I thought a happy life would be, I don't think I would say to become a Religious missionary. Yet it is impossible for me to express in human words how happy, peaceful, adventurous, exciting, fulfilled, and satisfying my life is as a Religious missionary. I can truly say with Mother Mary, "the Lord who is mighty has done great things for me" (Lk 1:49).
I was born in Minneapolis where I went to school, graduating from the University of Minnesota. In college, I had a plan to settle down, get married, have kids, and a job. Then something happened. I experienced a real living encounter with the person of Jesus Christ, who is very much alive and very much wants to be with me.

I began to discover Christ in the Mass, Rosary, Confession, Scriptures, Eucharistic Adoration, and in the writings of Pope John Paul the Great. I asked the Lord for the first time what He wanted, what his plan was for me. At first I thought I was called to be single, but the Vocation Director of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis helped me discern a call to priesthood. I met some priests there, the Companions of Christ, who helped me discern God’s call to become a missionary.

I joined the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT), a congregation of priests, Religious, and lay who serve in areas of deepest apostolic need. I have since then served God’s beloved poor on three continents, studied at pontifical schools, met popes and saints, and have experienced a peace, joy, freedom, and confidence I never imagined possible. Thanks, God. Thanks, Mary. Thanks, Mom and Dad. Thanks, Catholic Church.
