The Lord has done great things for us
Sister Cecilia Rose Carleton, Sisters of Life
The Lord has done great things for us we are filled with joy! ~Ps. 126:3
It all started when He “knit me in my mother’s womb” & I was born in No Cal, I grew up knowing that Christ loved me and also that He was my pal! My parents taught me my faith and many a seed was sown, And then in high school I decided to make my faith my own! I chose a college to go to because of a big scholarship and to play volleyball, But transferred after a semester because it wasn’t right for me after all. So God led me up to Oregon to study theology and gain more experiences in life, But mostly all I prayed about was one fine day becoming some lucky man’s wife! After 3 ½ years I graduated still single but fully trusting in the Lord’s plan, Which brought me to NET Ministries in MN and a beautiful team I co-ran! After a year of evangelizing, loving my team & learning how to pray and more about me, Christ called me to come on staff with local outreach because He still wasn’t quite done with me you see! God showed me I was holding on tightly to my desires for a spouse, family, and even working for NET, And that I wasn’t completely open to religious life because I was busy checking off my “ultimate-to-do-list” things I hadn’t done yet! So I took the hint and fully opened my heart to His will, Which led me to a year in a discernment house with 11 other ladies and it was quite a thrill! Seeing other talented, beautiful young women who saw Christ as the perfect man, Unleashed the desire in my own heart to be fully His, if that was His plan! It’s really a long beautiful story of Christ’s love, gentle invitations and promptings, but there’s not enough room for all the details… so… Now I find myself as a Postulant with the Sisters of Life on the east coast. Far away from my family and friends, but living with the Lord who loves me most! So, there’s the short version of the Lord calling me closer to His heart, It’s a discernment process which will take a couple yrs to know if He’s truly calling me to be “set apart”! So, I thank you for your prayers and invite you to be open too, To anything and everything that the Lord’s asking of you! All He needs is your daily “yes”, so give it to Him and you’ll be in for quite the ride! Have no fear, His love is everlasting and He’ll always be right by your side!
